The place where Jimi spent his last night,the Samarkand Hotel is still located at the same place near Portobello/London

When Death came to Baghdad
Story by the great Sufi Fudayl Ibn Ayad (8th/9th century)
One day, the disciple of a Bagdad sufi was sitting in the back of a tavern, when suddenly he over heard a conversation unbetween two persons. Listening to them talking, he understood that one of them was the Death Angel.
"I have several visits to make in this town for the three weeks coming" said the Angel to his friend. Terrified, the disciple stayed hidden until they quit the tavern room. He called all his intelligensy for help to find the way to escape to the eventuality of the Angel visit. He finaly decide to stay away from Baghdad : like this, the Death will be unable to do anything against him.

STORY

After thinking so, it was just the matter to rent the most speed horse and run away, night and day, until the very far Samarkand. In the mean time, the Death met the sufi master, they were talking about different persons. "Could you tell me where is your disciple so and so ?" asked the death. - "He must be somewhere in town, spending his time to contemplation, may be in a caravanserai, answered the master - It's amazing, said the Angel, because he is on my list.... Look ! there he is : I must keep him in four weeks in Samarkand and nowhere else." Story from the Hikayat-i-Naqshia (Concepted Stories under a Diagram)

A vision of Hendrix

In the Samarkand Hotel tour , as Jimi made it in his concerts and on his albums with the other composers, I mix my titles in his.
By using an extreme distortion of the sound of our acoustic instruments for this tour, we join with conviction his will of emancipation and postage of the space in which certain peoples are forced to live. Hendrix was an electric shaman and a liberator. He is the first one to have played with mastery of the parameters "distortion" and "space". The first one to have exorcised the fear of machines and to have used the development of the frequencies until blackmail them as sirens. Make roar the bombs of Vietnam ravaged on his guitar and sing in a sweet and deep voice the main part love.
On his first album, his record company had seen fit to clarify: " The present distortion on this disc is wanted by the artist ". The amp in the red, as one shouts, not only that of the suffering, but also that of a baby who is born, the voluntary and active hope because our future always depends on our present decisions ". SAMARKAND HOTEL TOUR :

Samarkand Hotel Tour, of Switzerland in Finland, by way of Lithuanie and Estonia collected several thousand persons. Uniting in the same place until 4 generations. The music is a sharing.
The world looks like more and more a village, the next concerts shall continue the demarche tag of positive coeducation between traditions and technologies as Mad Sheer Khan since 1973 makes it whether it is with Talisman, on 1001 Nights, Mahjuba or Samarkand Hotel.
The next foreseen stages promise good moments for the unity of the North and the South. Trips which who shall go of besides the Atlantic Ocean to Asia to carry the federative message of the Tag: This world has to exist without dominion of no sort, in the respect and the love of his variety. It is not necessary that the physical link due to the progress of transport take away us from the first sense of this world: every being who is born is a winner.

" From Jimi HENDRIX's larsens to the melodic undulations of the Ganges, there was thus only a step ?! It is the principle of the T.A.G (Tradition Avant-garde), a shape of transposition of a traditional instrumentation in a different culture introduced by Mad Sheer khan since 1973 which illustrates a certain idea of the cultural integration.... One finds naturally some HENDRIX 's tubes also occasions which this one interpreted, of Bob DYLAN and Buddy MILES, as well as titles composed by Mad Sheer khan completely in mind of the compositions of Jimi HENDRIX. It is obviously only a selection, because Mad Sheer Khan's concerts owed more than two hours and reserve the other excellent surprises as those of this album ! MUSICIANS
Mad Sheer Khan at voice and dilruba (indian violin ).
Student of Ekram Khan ( sarangui ), follower of Sultan Khan (tradition of Radjahstan). The Dilruba is a violin from the north of India. Its incredible sound seduced the Beatles during recording of "Sergent Pepper".

Celia at the tampura tag, Harmonium and drum &bass live machines.
The ritual instruments of the Indian Classical and Qawali music united with ou the sacred sound of the current électro.

Anand Kumar at Tabla.
Old friend of Mad Sheer Khan with whom he already played in 1980 within the group Rahmann. Anand studied tablas with the master Allah Rakka (father of Zakir Hussein) and the sitar with the master Ravi Shankar.

Sergio Antonio Léon Ruffin at TAG drums.
His style is a mix of yuruba, Congo and bantu Cubans.
